An extensive £5.1m restoration of Nottingham's Forest Recreation Ground has now started, which will include an upgrade of the infrastructure and visitor facilities.
Nottingham City Council (NCC), the Partnership Council, the Castle Cavendish Foundation and Friends of the Forest are working in conjunction to deliver the improvements.
The Grade II-listed lodge building is to be brought into "productive community use", while the pavilion will house a new café and a community hall.
In addition to £1.9m worth of funding from NCC and its partners, the Heritage Lottery Fund and Big Lottery Fund have also contributed £3.2m towards the project.
NCC has also revealed that a separate project has already started in parallel to the restoration of Forest Recreation Ground, which will deliver a new Sports Zone for public use.
