The refurbished health and fitness club at Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield has opened its doors to the public.

The venue now features Technogym equipment, a full Personal Selection strength and Excite cardiovascular range, an advanced training zone, plasma screen TVs and a coffee room.

Members can also benefit from eight fitness classes, three ladies only classes, male and female saunas, indoor and outdoor athletics tracks, plus access to Run Unlimited – Don Valley’s coached running club.

Pat Smith, general manager of Don Valley Stadium, said: “This is a fantastic new development and it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to continually improving facilities and services to enhance our customer experience.

“The transformation enables us to meet the growing expectations of our community and elite users when it comes to quality and value for money and also to strengthen the stadium’s reputation as a nationally renowned sports and leisure venue.

“The new Technogym range complements the contemporary environment we have created. It also features a large advanced training zone to ensure that all customers can benefit from the improvements.”

The revamp was funded by Sheffield International Venues (SIV), which operates the 25,000-seat athletics stadium.
