Rhodes’ return to bring back British
Following the closure of Rhodes in the Square and City Rhodes earlier this year, chef Gary Rhodes has returned to the City to launch Rhodes Twenty Four.
Located on the 24th floor of Tower 42 – London’s tallest building – the 76-cover restaurant opened yesterday (20th October) in partnership with Restaurant Associates, the fine dining arm of Compass Group. It has been designed by Real Studios with the interior colourways inspired by the shades found in artichokes – lilac, pink and blue/green.
The restaurant will offer classic British favourites “displaying a new elegance and style” said Rhodes. “These recipes, with their rejuvenated style are here to be enjoyed and to revive the feelings predominantly for good traditional British cookery.”
The menu will include oxtail cottage pie, cockle and leek casserole and jam roly poly with custard.
Rhodes Twenty Four is part of a new £3.5m, 10-year contract with Tower 42 for Restaurant Associates, which has managed the building’s hospitality and catering services since 1998.
As well as managing Vertigo, the champagne bar on the 42nd floor; the suite of eight private dining and conference rooms, Restaurant Associates will be refurbishing the ground floor café bar and introducing one of its international brands, Caffè Ritazza.
