SHINE launches management training course for women
SHINE People & Places has announced the launch of a new management training course for women working in the hospitality, tourism, travel and leisure sectors in the north west of England.
The management development programme combines a recognised management course with individual mentoring, and has the financial support of the Learning and Skills Council and the European Social Fund.
The course provides the comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary for effective operational management in today’s demanding tourism, hospitality, travel and leisure industry.
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive their Introductory Certificate in First Line Management, certified by the Institute of Leadership & Management.
The mentoring sessions in the programme are designed to reinforce the learning from the course, and help delegates develop their management skills with the support of a more experienced manager.
Many of the mentors on this programme are senior managers from the tourism industry who voluntarily provide their time and experience to benefit junior colleagues in the industry.
Delegates will attend 8 off-site learning days, over eight months, together with a minimum of five hours of one-to-one mentoring.
Some self-study, including a work-based assignment, is also required.
The cost of the programme is £100 + vat per delegate.
