Shankill Leisure Centre has undergone a £95,000 revamp funded by Sport Northern Ireland.

The work included the laying of a new floor in the main sports hall.

The deputy lord mayor of Belfast, councillor William Humphrey, said: "The revamp is good news not just for local sportspeople, like the members of the Irish Youth Cricket team who will use it for indoor practice, but for the wider community.

"It demonstrates the importance of working in partnership as we have done here with Sport NI to get the best facilities possible."
