Mark Bremner’s 3d Leisure launches fitness facility at Lambeth Academy
After overcoming several hurdles on its way to launch, it was somewhat fitting that LA ActiveLife leisure centre was opened recently by someone well-acquainted with conquering mountains: the youngest woman to ever climb Mount Everest, Bonita Norries.
The project of transforming the sports facilities of Lambeth Academy in Clapham into a community-serving gym was brought to fruition by Mark Bremner’s 3d Leisure.
Since the start of the year, specialist leisure facility management company 3d Leisure has been orchestrating a campaign to build membership by promoting the new gym facilities and extensive range of classes – including yoga, boxercise, spin and body sculpt – as well as engaging with existing clients who use the sports hall and outdoor pitches.
Around 11,500 leaflets were sent out to the neighbourhood and an LA ActiveLife team went door to door to let local people know what they can do for them and offer a free fitness assessment, ahead of the official launch on 25 February.
“There were a number of people in attendance from the local business community who we hope will be part of our plans going forwards by either using the facilities or helping raise awareness of the benefits of a healthier lifestyle,” said 3d Leisure regional director Paul Dickinson of the opening launch.
