Sir David Adjaye's first residential skyscraper in the US tops out with extensive wellness offer
Sir David Adjaye's first residential skyscraper in the US – 130 William – has topped out in New York's Financial District.
Developed by the Lightstone Group, the 66-storey building will boast a plethora of wellness facilities, including a gym with an adjoining a yoga room and workout terrace, and a spa with three pools, a sauna, and a massage room.
The 224-apartment property will also have a basketball court, a golf simulator, a private IMAX theatre, and a community park.
The building's hand-cast facade – inspired by Manhattan's first high-rises – will feature arched windows and atmospheric loggias with bronze detailing.
Its interior spaces – set to include a material palette of marble, oak, and bronze – will be furnished with a number of Adjaye's custom-designed fixtures.
"In defining the design for 130 William, I sought to celebrate New York City's heritage of masonry architecture, referencing the historical architecture once pervasive upon one of the city's earliest streets," Adjaye explained.
"130 William evokes the past, but also has a forward-looking design which explores the new possibilities of urban, vertical living."
Prices for condos start at US$1.3m (€1.1m, £1m).
