New community sports and recreation facilities are among a series of priorities for the next three years to be discussed by Pendle Borough Council (PBC).

The council's executive will debate the Strategic Plan at its meeting on 17 March, which is designed to guide the top 12 priorities for the local authority. Among the plans is the creation of new sports facilities in partnership with schools and the Pendle Leisure Trust, along with efforts to grow the local economy.

PBC chief executive Stephen Barnes said: "We're looking at different ways of delivering services as the newly restructured and streamlined council gets underway on 1 April."
