Technogym to unveil new Wellness Campus in Italy
Former US President Bill Clinton and Giorgio Napolitano, the President of Italy, will be at the opening of the Technogym Village on 29 September 2012, along with 800 other guests from more than 60 countries.
The new company headquarters in Cesana represents the first Wellness Campus in the world with 60,000 m sq of covered spaces spread across the 150,000 m sq site.
The Technogym Village is designed to be a cultural centre, a laboratory for innovation and a production centre.
The project combines the production sites and company headquarters with a wellness centre including an avant-garde gym, conference centre, library and restaurant serving zero-mileage food.
The site was designed by Antonio Citterio, Patricia Viel and Partners - one of Italy's most internationally renowned architecture studios - around the human being, inspired by the concepts of eco-sustainability and bio-architecture, and by the principles of health and wellness in the workplace.
The project is part of the Romagna Wellness Valley initiative, promoted by Nerio Alessandri, which aims to create Europe's first wellness district to raise the quality of life and use wellness for economic development in Romagna.
An international convention, 20° Wellness Congress, entitled 'Let's move for a better world' will be taking place during the event to discuss wellness as an opportunity for sustainable socio-economic development.
President Bill Clinton, whose foundation is dedicated to the fight against childhood obesity, will give the closing speech.
Technogym website will be live streaming the event.
