Tanjong Jara reopens
The remodelled and extended Spa Village Tanjong Jara has reopened.
Situated on the east coast of Malaysia, the Spa Village was formerly known as the Tanjong Club Spa and is part of the Tanjong Jara Resort, owned by YTL Hotels & Properties.
The Spa Village consists of five new treatment pavilions, each featuring an outdoor sunken bath and a Mandi Bunga, or a Malay Flower Bath facility.
The spa will offer Malay treatments which focus on the entire body alongside a menu of natural therapies inspired by various indigenous herbs and plants.
The remedial products used in the treatments will consist of natural oils, fruit extracts and botanical mixtures that are homegrown. Containing natural vitamins and minerals, commonly used ingredients for services will include Daun Sireh (piper betel), Limau Purut (kaffir lime), Halba (fenugreek) and Daun Pandan (pandanus leaves).
Signature treatments will include Asam Roselle, which consists of a relaxing deep muscle massage, cream scrub and a cup of Rose tea to conclude the experience and Syurga Tujuh, or Seven Steps to Heaven, which includes a hand and foot soak and ends with a Malay scalp treatment.
Surrounded by gardens and swimming pools, the new treatment pavilions also boast a new gym as part of the wellness complex.
The entire resort has been styled around 17th century traditional Malay architecture and features handcrafted interiors by local craftsmen, using indigenous timbers.
Sister YTL properties to the Spa Village Tanjong Jara include spa Village Pangkor Laut, Spa Village Kuala Lumpr and Spa Village Cameron Highlands. Details: www.tanjongjararesort.com
