Europa Park announces record-breaking flying attraction and invites public to send in ideas for content
Michael Mack, managing partner at Europa Park, has unveiled plans for a €25m (US$28m, £21.5m) flying theatre attraction set to open April 2017. Dubbed Project V, the experience marks the biggest single investment ever made by the park into a single attraction.
According to the Europa Park, Project V will recreate the feeling of flying for guests who will soar above a catalogue of places in what will be the biggest flying theatre in Europe.
"The attraction will have two 70-seat theatres, each with seven gondolas, creating a capacity of 1,400 people per hour. It will be highly themed, a German theme, right at the entrance of Europa-Park," said Mack. "We'll reveal more about the story in the coming months."
Project V is a working title, and the ride name will be revealed when the attraction opens next season. Mack family enterprises MackMedia and MackSolutions are responsible for the movie production and concept design respectively, and are working alongside Kraftwerk and Brogent Engineering.
"I would ask our followers on Facebook and Twitter to think about what Project V could be. Do you have an image in mind which you would like to see in the ride? Post it to Twitter, Instagram or Facebook and we'll use the best ideas," said Jakob Wahl, communications director at Europa Park.
