True Fitness adds to ZTX range.
St Louis-based fitness equipment group, True Fitness, has announced two new additions to its ZTX series of exercise bikes.
The 850ZTX and 825ZTX upright and recumbent bikes will be unveiled at the IHRSA 2004 show in Las Vegas at the end of March.
Both bikes feature Smart Start technology, enabling a fast start to a workout with intelligent default settings for age, weight, gender and length of workout.
Personal Power, one element of Smart Start, calculates and provides an appropriate load during a workout by taking a users bodyweight into consideration. As an example, this would see Level 9 for a 150lb person being set at 100 watts, rising to 122 watts for a person weighing 200lb.
The two models also feature HRC Ultra, a high intensity workout which gradually increases a riders heart rate from 70 per cent maximum to 97 per cent at the finish.
An LCD screen on the 850 shows four data display combinations in EZ-Mode or, if required, will provide up to six readouts simultaneously.
A customisable display bar on the screen shows speed, heart rate, calories/hour and METs or watts, plus an ECG waveform indicator which shows a users actual heartbeat throughout the workout.
