Rudding Park names Sian Jones as new assistant spa director
Rudding Park hotel has named Sian Jones as its new assistant spa director.
Jones is the former head of health club and spa at London luxury hotel Claridge’s, and her 13-year spa career also includes stints at La Residencia, Mallorca and Browns, a Rocco Forte Hotel in London.
She has also managed the award-winning Devonshire Spa at the University of Derby – a ‘real world’ learning environment for students studying international spa management.
Jones said: “I look forward to joining the Rudding Park team, supporting the team and sharing the innovative ideas we have planned for 2018 with our members and guests.”
Rudding Park’s £9.5m (€10.9m, US$11.8m) split-level spa in Harrogate, Yorkshire, opened in May 2017.
Among the spa’s signature features is the 45,000sq ft (4,180sq m) Roof Top Spa Garden, curated by celebrity garden and landscape designer Matthew Wilson.
The spa was also the first UK wellness facility to introduce the art of aufguss – a sauna-based treatment derived from ancient, native American rituals.
Matthew Mackaness, spa director, added: “Despite our success, it is important we do not become complacent and we must continue to evolve the spa experience for our guests.
“Sian brings a wealth of experience to the team and I look forward to working with her to ensure we continue to offer our guests the best spa experience, from the facilities, treatments to the service.”
