Viceroy Hotel Group opens Caribbean resort after US$100m revamp
Viceroy Hotel Group has launched Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort in the Caribbean, following a US$100m (£62m, 76.5m euro) renovation.
The former Jalousie Plantation Hotel has been relaunched and renovated as Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort by the Viceroy Hotel Group, who has managed the property since 2008.
Located on the Eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia, the revamp included a 9,427sq ft (875.8sq m) Rainforest Spa.
The spa houses seven tree house treatment cabanas and an earthen steamroom.
Locally inspired signature treatments are on offer, such as the sulphur and lime body wrap and papaya and sea salt body polish.
Luxury product lines Valmont and Natura Bisse are used for the treatments.
Other renovations include the addition of new luxury villas that include private plunge pools.
Two new restaurants and four bars have been added including Caribbean inspired cuisine at The Great Room.
A new reception area, lobby and the terrace, which houses a breakfast restaurant completed the transformation.
Viceroy Hotel Group's CEO Bill Walshe said: "Transforming the Jalousie Plantation to Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort is the next step towards furthering Viceroy Hotel Group's international portfolio, and the total renovation of this picturesque St. Lucia property will continue to draw the most discerning guests to relax and recharge in total luxury."
