Venue management company, Vimac Leisure, has acquired the Hush nightclub and Absolut Vodka Bar in Middlesborough for around £3m as part of its ongoing acquisition programme, focused on the north of England and Scotland.

Hush – which is based in a listed building – was bought by developer Rashad Hameed three years ago. It will join other Vimac sites in locations including Glasgow and Durham.

There are no plans to change its current working formula. Vimac’s latest venue – the £2.2m Studio nightclub in Chester-le-Street – will open in June.
