Wycombe Leisure to manage new school leisure centre
A new leisure centre has been opened at Bartholomew School in Eynsham by Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council.
The dual-use centre, which will be managed by sports trust Wycombe Leisure,
boasts a 30-station gym, four-court sports hall, reception areas and changing rooms as well as full disabled access.
The sports hall was officially opened by and named after former head teacher Bill Berry, who said: “This facility is about encouraging children to take part in physical activity, not just competitive games, and keeping fit has made it possible for those who would normally shy away from PE to get involved.”
Rick Durrant, managing director of Wycombe Leisure, said: “I am delighted that Wycombe Leisure Ltd will be part of this very exciting and community based project to deliver sport and fitness facilities to the people of Eynsham.
“Our company is a non-profit organisation distributing social enterprise that returns any surpluses made to the communities it serves.”
