The Welsh Government has awarded funding of £45,254 to support the work of Show Racism the Red Card (SRRC) for the next financial year.

SRRC uses sport to educate children and young people about anti-racism.

A spokesperson said the funding will allow the organisation to visit schools and sports clubs and to hold workshops and educational events for an estimated 9,000 young people.

Sanjiv Vedi, chair of SRRC Wales said: "This is welcome news at a time when concerns are rife about racism on and off the field across the UK.

"In Wales we are lucky to have such support from across a real diverse range of funders and to add the name of the Welsh Government is a tribute to the team and the efforts of everyone helping to challenge racism. We can never be complacent."
