Winners announced in first ever Manchester Awards
The winners were announced last week of the first ever Manchester Awards, organised by Moving Manchester and Creative Spark.
The awards, nominated and voted for by the public, spanned a variety of categories, including best bar, won by Living Room; best traditional pub, won by Sam’s Chop House; best club, Lucid; best club night, Good Greef and best gay venue, Essential.
Other winners on the night included GL-14, which took best health club; The Filmworks, which won best family attraction, The Trafford Centre, named best visitor attraction and The Lowry, best hotel.
The award ceremony was held at the five-star Radisson Edwardian hotel on Peter Street – which had a soft opening last Monday (7 June).
Michael Huckerby, of Moving Manchester, said: “The Manchester Awards were created to ensure that the city’s most popular haunts were recognised for their successes throughout the city.
“The winners in each category have impressed the public so much that they have received a Manchester Award for all their hard work in making Manchester Britain’s vibrant and exciting second city what it is today.”
