Wycombe goes Brazilian
Wycombe Leisure (WLL) has linked up with the International Confederation of Futebol de Salão (ICFDS) to roll out Brazilian soccer schools around the south of England.
WLL launched its first Futebol de Salão (FDS) course in June with over 700 children attending free taster sessions in four separate venues across West Oxfordshire.
WLL has taken over an existing, five-year-old franchise that will secure the future of FDS in Windsor, Maidenhead, Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham.
WLL’s Chris Sharman said: “The success of the launch this summer has enabled us to start planning the expansion of the concept.
“Future contracts are planned throughout Oxfordshire, Chiltern and Aylesbury Vale.”
FDS is a five-a-side version of football, which uses a smaller ball that has very little bounce. Originated in South America, the game encourages children to spend as much time as possible with the ball developing their skills.
WLL’s Brazilian soccer schools follow the FDS principles and aim to give children between five and 16 years of age the best start in football. Details: +44 (0)1608 644273 or www.icfds.com
