Playdale have recently installed the first Agoratop concept in the UK, a project that will allow the young people of Stratford to enjoy open-air sports in all weather conditions.

The covering for the Agoraspace concept is a structure that provides a roof over the multi-use games area, which not only protects the user from bad weather conditions but also provides shade from high temperatures.

A timed lighting system that can be controlled by the London Borough of Newham was also installed so that children can use the facility after dark.

Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, said that: “The Stratford multi-use games area is a key facility in the borough because it enables residents to enjoy a variety of sports in all weathers year round.”

The official opening for the facility took place at the end of September with the Mayor of Newham and Lead Officer for the Newham Sports Academy Tessa Sanderson.
