Brawn unveils the operator’s dream: a cash-positive PT retention engine
Brawn have announced the relaunch of its platform following a £2 million technology rebuild, introducing the UK’s first fully managed, white-labelled Small Group Strength Training (SGST) service for multi-site gym operators.
Developed and tested in partnership with leading operators across multiple sites and regions, the new service has already delivered transformational results: PTs earning up to £1,000 per week and operator PT churn rates cut by more than 50% month-on-month.
Brawn's CEO, Sohail Rashid said, “This is the operator’s dream: a plug-and-play solution that immediately generates cash for self-employed Personal Trainers which directly impacts churn.
In HVLC gyms, PT’s are trying to sell a £40-50 per hour product to an audience paying £20 per month for their gym membership. This is an uphill battle, particularly for PTs without an existing client base.
Over the last 18 months we’ve seen that PT’s can start earning over £300 per month in the first few weeks and this provides much needed financial support for them to develop and grow their personal training business.
For operators this means that they can maintain PT yield for longer and have the necessary operational resources to run the gym.”
A white-labelled, fully managed service
Brawn’s proposition is a ready-made growth engine that runs seamlessly under each operator’s own brand, powered by Brawn’s technology and team.
The managed service covers:
• Recruiting & onboarding PTs
• Training & session programming
• Marketing and lead generation
• Subscription payments & admin
• Class scheduling & member bookings
• Reporting on PT earnings, member retention, and gym performance
Why Operators are backing it
The new Brawn service is designed around the three key priorities operators face today:
• Revenue Growth – proven to increase member spend on PT and unlock new demand for strength training.
• PT Retention – an immediate cash-positive model that allows trainers to earn from their very first session, cutting churn rates significantly.
• Operational Simplicity – a white-labelled, plug-and-play service that requires no new systems or staff structures.
Proven at Scale
Testing across multiple sites and regions has demonstrated that Small Group Strength Training expands the PT market rather than cannibalising it. Key insights include:
• PTs earning up to £1,000 per week
• Operator PT churn reduced by 50%+ month-on-month
• 76% of participants are female
• 75% of participants are aged 35–55
• 80% of participants are beginners
• 83% of participants had never touched a barbell before
• 1 in 5 participants are converting to 1:1 personal training
This demonstrates that the service not only solves the PT retention problem, but also expands participation in strength training, reaching new member demographics who would not otherwise engage with PT.
