LOCOG appoints director of Games operations
The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has appointed Doug Arnot as Director of Games Operations.
Arnot will be responsible for the overall planning, co-ordination and delivery of London 2012's Games Time Operations and this will include integrating venues, sport, village, security, games services and broadcast functions. He will report directly to LOCOG CEO Paul Deighton.
Most recently, Arnot has been Senior Vice President of the Chicago 2016 Olympic Games bid team.
In other Olympics news, LOCOG has launched its search for a large scale events production company to provide administrative and production services for the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
