A partnership between Life Fitness and Gillingham Football Club has transformed the players’ training, with a renewed focus on strength and injury prevention for the sportsmen.

The refurbishment of the club’s 200 sq ft gym in October saw the installation of state of the art equipment, tailor-made to support players’ requirements throughout the season.

As a result, the League One side has seen a significant reduction in soft tissue injuries across the team.

Players have access to Integrity Series cardiovascular equipment including treadmills, exercise bikes and cross trainers as well as Hammer Strength HD Elite.

The addition of SYNRGY360-XL provides individual functional training sessions as well as group based sessions for the whole team.

Adam Roche, the club’s head of sports science and medicine, comments: “Having such a high-spec gym situated at our stadium has been an invaluable boost for our players and adds an extra dimension to their training routine.
