Life Fitness’ multi-site contract with Serco has been extended for a further five years under which it will provide fitness equipment across the management company’s entire leisure portfolio. This includes more than 30 leisure centres managed by Serco across the UK, on behalf of local authorities.

The partnership has seen the introduction of technologically advanced cardiovascular equipment including the ‘Elevation Series Treadmill’ with the ‘Discover SE Tablet Console’, allowing users to enjoy state-of-the-art equipment with a range of entertainment options and the functionality to personalise every workout. A selection of ‘Hammer Strength HD Elite’ rack lines have also been installed, providing a wide variety of personal strength training options to suit exercisers of all levels.

In addition to the investment in the equipment, Life Fitness Academy training has been delivered to gym staff across all sites. This training has been developed to address a specific brief, ensuring Serco staff benefit from a highly specialised and bespoke education programme.

Earlier this year Serco and Life Fitness celebrated the opening of a new training facility at the National Sports Centre in Bisham Abbey, and in September completed a functional training installation at Swallows Leisure Centre in Sittingbourne and new cardiovascular and resistance equipment at the Basingstoke Aquadrome.
