Pulse take on UK distribution for Rugged Interactive

By Dean Fox    24 Feb 2016

Pulse have signed a long-term agreement with leaders in motivational fitness technology, Rugged Interactive. The company have secured exclusive distribution of the CardioWalls – standard, compact and Pro-X – and the TrailBlazer Traverse climbing walls, to the leisure, education and military markets.

Rugged Interactive – who have CardioWalls at Fitness First, Bannatynes and David Lloyd health clubs – were looking for a partner who understands the interactive market. With a track record of selling interactive products and a dedicated arm of the business, headed up by recently appointed Director of Interactive Products, Paul Shinners, they were the perfect choice.

“It’s not always easy to justify the business case for interactive products and finding a partner with a real understanding of the market as well as its potential for growth was crucial for us,” says Simon Heap, Founder and Creative Director, Rugged Interactive.

“Pulse is embracing the challenge to help leisure centres, schools and health clubs get more people active. They recognise that interactive equipment likes ours can play a key role in this. We believe that Pulse – with their 35 years’ of market experience, extensive sales operation, and their design-build-operate capability – are the perfect partner to take our products out to the UK market.

“Both the CardioWall and TrailBlazer Traverse are stand-out products in their field. They are exciting interactive products that can motivate and enthuse people of literally any ability or age, to be more active. We see a real place for them in the facilities we work with in partnership, as well as the centres we operate,” says Chris Johnson, Managing Director for Pulse.

Rugged Interactive will also benefit from Pulse’s UK based design team. “Our two companies will work closely together to develop existing and new products which make this proposition even more effective and compelling,” adds Johnson. Rugged Interactive have new products in development, which they plan to launch in partnership with Pulse. They also plan to investigate potential export markets.
